Proposed Amended Section 2(f)

 

2(f)  Children’s Playsets and Playhouses:  In addition to the examples listed above, the word "structure" or "building" does not include any children’s "Playset" or "Playhouse".  The plans and specifications for any new Playset or Playhouse must be submitted to and approved by the board in advance of installation.   Any existing Playset or Playhouse that an owner erected prior to July 1, 2007 or applied for approval prior to July 1, 2007 shall not be affected by this change. 

 

      (i) The word "Playset" shall include, but is not limited to swings, slides, or similar childrens recreational equipment.  Any Playset must be placed in the homeowner's back yard, set at least 5 feet from any property line, and be made primarily out of wood materials.  All Playsets must be maintained in good condition. 

 

      (ii) The word "Playhouse" shall include, but is not limited to any construction with walls and/or a roof.  Any Playhouse must be placed in a homeowner's back yard, set at least 5 feet from any property line, and be made primarily out of wood or plastic materials.  A Playhouse may not be used for storage.  No playhouse may exceed 8 feet in height or 6 x 8 feet at its base.
